Breast Cancer

Over 3,000 people took part in this research to determine how aware South Africans are of breast cancer and the importance of early detection. The results revealed alarming statistics, showing that the vast majority of women in South Africa don't self-examine enough and are therefore at risk of developing a tumour and not detecting it early. Furthermore, only one in five of South African women goes for regular mammograms. The majority of women say they do not go for this examination because they don't have access or funds for this service.
